Near & Near Undertakers is a local, family owned, Funeral Director Company.
We are totally independent of any other business, with our Funeral Homes in both Grimsby and Immingham.
Opening in 1988, we are the longest established family owned and run undertaker business in Grimsby and the only one in Immingham.
We have always had the bereaved family’s wishes as the fundamental basis of the personal service, help and advice provided.
With in excess of 125 years of collective experience, everyone at Near & Near Undertakers will, with great care and compassion, help and guide you, your family and your friends through this very sad and difficult time.
Our funeral homes in Grimsby and Immingham offer a relaxed and informal environment perfectly suited to the private and sensitive discussion of funeral arrangements.
However, should a home visit be preferred, we are more than pleased to accommodate this.
Our helpful and experienced Funeral Directors will support and guide you from the moment we are contacted until the day of the funeral and afterwards.

A little piece of history
1988, the year that Jan and I decided to embark on the creation of what is now known as Near & Near Undertakers Limited. Initially trading under the name of Terence Hartley Funerals, names of two of our grandfathers, then after a year or so the business name changed to Hartley Near and in 1991 it finally became Near & Near Undertakers.
The building we are located in, The Mews, David Street was previously the premises of Hipkins Builders and is steeped in history. Part of it, now rebuilt, was used by the local community for social events and other parts were definitely used to house farm animals.
Research into the history of this old building is ongoing and so this section will be updated as more information is obtained.
