Our children’s funeral services are free
Whether the funeral is for a baby lost during pregnancy, a child or a young person below the age of 18 years, our funeral services are free.
We are caring and dedicated professionals here to support parents, carers and families when a child has died.
We will sensitively guide you through everything, encouraging you to take all the time you feel you need.
We will help you make the choices that are right for you.
We will provide you with
- transport for your child into one of our funeral homes and care for them until the funeral service
- use of a private room to visit at either of our funeral homes
- our experience and understanding while assisting you through all the arrangements
- a suitable coffin
- your funeral director who will support you, your family and your friends on the day of the funeral
- a traditional hearse
- a limousine to follow the hearse, carrying up to seven people
- an online notice
Locally, you will not have to pay for the cremation or burial, but there may be additional costs, for example, a grave purchase fee. These additional costs are dependent on your requirements, we will help and advise you every step of the way.
There are options you might choose to pay for, including:
- an alterative principal funeral vehicle, perhaps a fire engine or a horse drawn hearse
- a different kind of coffin, for example, one depicting their favourite football team
- flowers and floral tributes
- balloon release
